Never heard of The Enchanted Forest before? This sound and light show has been held in Pitlochry, Scotland, every year since 2002! Around 80,000 visitors flock to the event held at Faskally Wood every Autumn, treated to a new theme each time.
I visited ‘Cosmos’ in 2019 and it was an absolutely amazing experience. This year we’re being treated to a ‘Symphony of Nature‘. A kaleidoscope of vivid colours will immerse you in an incredible outdoor experience, accompanied by original music emulating the harmony and power of nature.
The event is running from the 3rd October to 3rd November.
Symphony of Nature
Accompanied by Beira, Goddess of Winter, visitors will discover the mellow croak of the forest frogs, and the gentle whisper of butterfly wings, as they make their way towards the natural, spectacular crescendo, celebrating the harmony and power of nature at the heart of the ancient wood.
To get to the forest, you need to take the shuttle bus from Pitlochry. You get a 15 minute departure window on your entrance ticket, at which point your ticket will be scanned and you will be queued up ready to board the bus. It only takes 10 minutes to get to the forest once boarded.
Once you arrive in the forest you can stay for as long as you like (the show finishes at 10:30pm), and one full circuit around the trail normally takes between 60-90 minutes. The path is 1.8km long.
Yes! There are multiple areas where you can purchase hot food and drinks, plus a firepit for roasting marshmallows over. Card payment is accepted, but the signal is dodgy, so bring cash if you can to ensure you’re not caught out.
There are also toilets that are clearly signposted.

Accessibility
For wheelchair users, there is limited parking onsite, and you can request a wheelchair parking pass when you book your entrance tickets through the customer services. You must provide your booking reference to obtain the pass, and be aware that these spaces are first come first serve.
As for the actual path around the forest, this has been made accessible to most wheelchair users, but be aware that it is a natural setting with different gradients. There are some aspects of the show that may not be fully accessible for this reason.
There are disabled toilets on site, located next to the wheelchair pass parking area.
There are a number of free carer tickets that can be selected at the time of booking, but again, these are first come first serve.
There are Autism Friendly performances that are reserved for the beginning of the night, with smaller capacity shows, so that you’re at the start of the bus queue, first on site before the crowds, and experience a less busy event going around the forest trail.
